Infrared Sauna Sessions in Watsonia & Greensborough
Infrared Sauna

Our infrared sauna sessions offer a calm, private space to slow down, warm up and support your wellbeing in a way that fits into real life.

Located on the border of Watsonia and Greensborough, our clinic provides a space where you can step out of the noise of daily life and into something more restorative.

At Life Balance Adjustments, everything we offer sits within a whole-person approach to health. That means looking beyond one single factor and considering how movement, stress, recovery, environment and daily habits may all play a role in how you feel and function.

Infrared sauna is one of the ways people choose to create space for that reset.

A Whole-Person Approach to Wellbeing

We want people to feel heard, not rushed.

For some, that starts with chiropractic care. For others, it begins with simply taking time out.

Experiences like infrared sauna can become part of a broader routine that supports:

  • Time to slow down
  • Space to decompress
  • Physical and mental reset
  • Greater awareness of how your body responds

What Is an Infrared Sauna?

What Is an Infrared Sauna?

Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas use infrared energy to create a more direct warming experience at a lower ambient temperature.

We use a Sunlighten mPulse 3-in-1 infrared sauna, which includes:

  • Near infrared (~880 nm)
  • Mid infrared (~3000-5000 nm)
  • Far infrared (~5500-10,000+ nm)

These can be used in different combinations throughout a session depending on the selected program.

Infrared Sauna vs Traditional Sauna

Infrared Sauna vs Traditional Sauna

Traditional saunas heat the air around you, often at higher temperatures.

Infrared saunas create a warming experience using infrared energy, typically at a lower ambient temperature.

This can result in a different style of session, with some people finding the experience more gradual or comfortable depending on their preference.

Understanding the Sauna Programs

Understanding the Sauna Programs

One of the unique features of our sauna is the range of pre-set program options, which you will see on the screen when you begin your session.

These programs are designed to guide the session for you by:

  • Adjusting infrared wavelengths throughout the session
  • Varying temperature at different stages
  • Creating a more structured experience

Sunlighten’s system is built around the use of near, mid and far infrared wavelengths, each of which is associated with a different style of heating experience.

  • Near infrared is often described as more surface-level
  • Mid infrared is commonly associated with a deeper warming sensation
  • Far infrared is typically linked with a more full-body heating experience and sweating

The pre-set programs are designed to deliver different combinations of these wavelengths throughout the session, based on research into how heat and infrared exposure can be applied over time.

Rather than needing to adjust everything yourself, the system guides the session from start to finish.

Program options available

  • Pain Relief (30 minutes)
  • Relaxation (40 minutes)
  • Detoxification (37 minutes)
  • Cardiovascular (45 minutes)
  • Weight Loss (30 minutes)
  • Anti-Ageing (30 minutes)

These names reflect the style and structure of each program, rather than guaranteeing specific outcomes.

Not Sure Which Setting to Choose?

If you're unsure where to start, the pre-set programs are the easiest option. They are designed to guide the session for you, adjusting temperature and infrared wavelengths at different stages.

If you would prefer to take a more hands-on approach, you can select Quick Mode on the control panel.

In Quick Mode:

  • Near, mid and far infrared will run together throughout the session
  • You can select your preferred temperature
  • Settings remain consistent unless you choose to adjust them

This can be a good option if you prefer a more consistent, self-directed setup, while the pre-set programs are designed to guide the session for you by adjusting temperature and infrared wavelengths throughout.

Why We Chose Sunlighten Saunas

Why We Chose Sunlighten Saunas

When selecting a sauna, we were looking for something that aligned with our broader philosophy of supporting the body while being mindful of what we are exposed to.

For us, it wasn’t just about the experience of the sauna itself, but also how it was designed, constructed and used over time. Transparency around these factors was extremely important, so we could better understand exactly what we were choosing to bring into our wellness space.

Sunlighten stood out for:

  • Full-spectrum infrared technology (near, mid and far)
  • Pre-set wellness programs that adjust wavelength and temperature throughout the session
  • Published safety information and research summaries
  • Attention to how electromagnetic exposure is managed within the system
  • Consideration of materials used in construction, including finishes and bonding processes, recognising that sauna environments involve elevated temperatures during use

We recognise that not all sauna systems are built in the same way, so taking these factors into account was an important part of our decision-making process.

Our aim is not to overwhelm you with information, but to support you in making more informed decisions about what feels right for you.

We also intentionally chose a 3-person sauna,

We also intentionally chose a 3-person sauna, which means:

  • 2 people can sit comfortably without crowding
  • More space to relax
  • A less confined experience
Your First Session

Your First Session

During your first visit, we will guide you through how to use the sauna and select your preferred settings.

After that, you are welcome to take full control of your session.

A Couple of Helpful Tips

  • The sauna is preheated before you arrive, so when selecting a pre-set program, you can choose “No” when prompted for preheat
  • You are welcome to adjust settings at any point during your session
  • Please allow yourself enough time at the end of your session to cool down, dry off, get changed and vacate the room within your booked hour
Chromotherapy (Colour Light Therapy)

Chromotherapy (Colour Light Therapy)

Chromotherapy lighting is included in your session and allows you to choose a colour that suits your mood or intention for the session.

While individual responses vary, colours are often chosen based on how they feel rather than any fixed outcome.

For example:

  • Blue – often chosen for a calming, quiet experience
  • Red – often associated with warmth and energy
  • Green – commonly selected for balance
  • Purple – often used for a more meditative feel
  • Yellow – associated with brightness and uplift

Choose your preferred colour at the beginning of your session and enjoy it throughout your time in the sauna.

What to Expect From Your Session

What to Expect From Your Session

Your sauna room is booked for a full hour, which allows time for:

  • Changing before your session
  • Your sauna time (typically 30–45 minutes)
  • Cooling down and getting ready afterwards

Important: Hydration

We strongly recommend bringing a full water bottle.

Sauna sessions involve heat exposure and sweating, and hydration is important before, during and after your session. We do not supply water in the room, so please come prepared.

During your session:

  • You can sit or lie comfortably
  • Towels are recommended
  • You are in a private room

Please avoid leaning directly against the infrared panels, as they are designed to emit infrared energy without obstruction, allowing for a more even distribution throughout the session.

Combining Sauna With Chiropractic Care

Combining Sauna With Chiropractic Care

If you are booking both a sauna and chiropractic session, we recommend:

Chiropractic care first, sauna second!

This allows you to:

  • Move straight into a more relaxed state afterwards
  • Take advantage of the “wind down” period following your appointment

It also helps keep the clinical environment comfortable for all patients.

Some people describe this as feeling like their body is “doing more” in the session over time, although individual experiences can vary.
